Orissa get 3 points in drawn U-22 tie vs Karnataka

Orissa secured three points by virtue of taking a slender but vital three-run first innings lead against host Karnataka on the fourth and last day of their C K Nayudu Trophy (U-22) Elite Group-C cricket match, which ended in a draw at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore today.

In reply to Orissa`s first innings total of 331, the home side were all out for 328, losing their last six wickets for 95 runs. In the second innings, Karnataka were struggling at 124 for seven, in reply to Orissa’s 171 when both the captains agreed to end the match.

Among successful Orissa batsmen, Anurag Sarangi scored a half-century in each innings and vice-captain Abhilash Mallick hit 75 in the first innings, while medium-pacer Anand Sahoo emerged most successful bowler, bagging five wickets.
